Opal Louise Stanfield Payne

Opal Louise (Stanfield) Payne was born on April 21, 1948, in Durant, Oklahoma to Aubrey and Bea Stanfield. She left this world on July 12, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 77.

Opal enjoyed the outdoors. She had many flowers and enjoyed working with them. She loved the family campouts and always said, "There's nothing better than a Stanfield campfire." She enjoyed the family singing around the fire.

Opal was many things, mom, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She became a nurse in 1991 and always put herself into her work.

Opal is survived by her husband Bill Payne of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and her two sons Alan Watkins and wife Christy of Durant, Oklahoma and Danny Watkins and wife Lisa of Durant, Oklahoma. Three sisters Marty Watkins of Durant, Oklahoma, Carolyn Baxter and husband Roy of Caddo, Oklahoma, June Finney and husband Jimmy of Durant, Oklahoma and one brother Dale Stanfield of Caddo, Oklahoma. Opal's prized possessions were her grandchildren Maegen Sylvester of Durant, Oklahoma and Alex Watkins of Prosper, Texas. She has 4 great grandkids. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents Aubrey and Bea Stanfield, and her niece Demetra Wright.

Family hour will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5-7:00PM at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00AM at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Aubrey Stanfield officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Payne, Zackary Payne, JD Kelly, Dale Stanfield, James Stanfield, and Bret Andis. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Andis, Stacey Watkins, and Alex Watkins. Burial will immediately follow in Gethsemane
