Gerald Bruce McMichael, a resident of Caddo, Oklahoma, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, joined his Savior on December 31, 2020 at the age of 71. He was born in Caddo, Oklahoma to Billy Joe (BJ) McMichael and Virginia Valdean (Ballew) McMichael. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday January 9, 2021 at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. His pallbearers will be Clay Smith, Brice Jenkins, Dewayne Krebbs, David Butler, Richard (Pee Wee) Jackson, and Bill Gordon. The service will be available to watch via live stream on the funeral home Face book page at 2:00 PM.
Gerald married his beloved wife Edythe (Edie) Behrens in Denison, Texas on August 10, 1966. He was a rancher for most of his life. His trade was driving a truck for Lattimore Material, from which he retired. Gerald also worked as a plumber with his dad. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and he spent much of his free time refereeing basketball games. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Mr. McMichael is survived by his wife, Edythe (Edie) of the home, son, Paul McMichael and wife Pat of Mead, Oklahoma, special granddaughter, Erin Holt of Mead, Oklahoma, daughter, Amy Manners and husband Brad of Keller, Texas, grandchildren, Sierra and Braden Manners of Keller, Texas, brother, David McMichael and wife Krista of Caddo, Oklahoma, and also survived by his aunt, Darlene Hokett of Caney, Oklahoma.
Mr. McMichael was preceded in death by his parents, BJ and Valdean McMichael, and brother, Barry McMichael.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that memorials be made to the Caddo Educational Fund, PO Box 128, Caddo, Oklahoma 74729.
