Cleo A. Martin, 84 A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Cleo A. Martin, 84, Caddo, who died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Four Seasons Nursing Home. Rev. Steve Nation will officiate.
He was born Thursday, Feb. 12, 1920, in Cobb to Howard Martin and Nora (Taylor) Johnson. He married Helen Louise (Lynch) in Dallas, Texas, April 22, 1943.
After his travels with the United States Air Force, he and his family resided in Denison, Texas, from 1951-1972. In 1972, Cleo and Helen moved to the family farm north of Durant where they still reside. He was in the USAF during W.W.II. He retired in Civil Service and as an instructor at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was a rancher and of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Dave Johnson; brothers James Martin and Ralph Martin; sisters-in-law Peggy Martin and Mary Lynch; and brother-in-law Frank Hoover.
He is survived by his wife of the home; daughters Lynette Parmley and husband Joe, Oklahoma City, Dana Blackwell and husband Bill, Caddo, Dion Martin, Caddo; granddaughter Kelli Williams and husband Todd, Lawton, Cara Howell, Caddo; grandsons Jeromy Williams and wife Jaime, Caddo, Ryan Williams, Harbor, Wash., Ross Parmley and wife Heather, Norman, Aaron Campbell, Caddo, Cory Williams and wife Krystal, Folsom, Calif.; brother Roy Johnson and wife Carolyn, Oklahoma City; sisters Mae Herrin, Durant, June Stagner and husband Delbert, Wichita Falls, Texas, Virginia Hankey and husband Sam, Edmond; sister-in-law Ruby Martin Kincaid, Caddo; brother-in-law Larry Lynch, Silver City, N.M.; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo, with pallbearers Jeromy Williams, Ryan Williams, Ross Parmley, Todd Williams, Aaron Campbell, Curtis Rhew and Russell Washington. Honorary pallbearers will be Cory Williams, Bennie Kincheloe, W.O. Hawkins, Leroy Watson and J.D. Fanning.
Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
