Lifetime Caddo resident, Johnnie (Dick) Hodge, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, in Durant, Oklahoma. His parents, Joe and Etta Hodge, moved from Ft. Payne, Alabama and settled west of Caddo in 1925 and raised 10 children. Johnnie was child number eight and was born on April 14, 1929 being the first Hodge child born in Oklahoma making him a genuine "Okie."

He married Ada Ella Deason on October 13, 1948, in Sherman, Texas. They began their 69 years of marriage working side by side in the migrate fields of Southern California in the San Joaquin Valley during the 1950's and early 1960's.

Johnnie was self-employed as a trucker hauling bales of hay, cotton, wheat, and furniture. Next, he ran a gas station and pool/domino hall in Caddo. For many years, his sons had a lawn care service in Caddo and Johnnie worked as a small engine mechanic. Johnnie attended worship at the Caddo Church of Christ.

Johnnie loved to play dominos and always welcomed friends and family to a challenge. He played in the local Heart Fund Domino Tournament and won many championships.

Mr. Hodge is survived by his beloved wife Ada Ella (Deason) Hodge of the home; children, Danny Hodge and wife Beth Hodge of Caney, Oklahoma, Karen Cagle and husband Danny of Cape Coral, Florida, Steven Hodge and wife Nicki of Anna, Texas, and Ronnie Hodge and wife Jennifer of Caddo, Oklahoma; brother, Jimmy Hodge of Holdenville, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Birdie Hodge of Cameron, Texas; grandchildren, Angela Hodge of Fate, Texas, Nina Hernandez and husband Lorenzo of Hutto, Texas, Leslie Hodge of McKinney, Texas, Jerrod Hodge of Carrolton, Texas, Christopher Baas and wife April of Anna, Texas, Andrew Baas and wife Jessica of Melissa, Texas, Johnny Cagle and wife Theresa of Patterson, California, Jessica Adams and husband Joshua of Kingston, Oklahoma, Jenna Hodge of Caddo, Oklahoma, and Hanna Hodge of Caddo, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Chandler Brown of Stigler, Oklahoma, Dillon Maze of Fate, Texas, Landry Roberts of Fate, Texas, Joaquin and Gisselle Hernandez of Hutto, Texas, Ava and Addison Hodge of Whitewright, Texas, Rylee and Eli Baas of Anna, Texas, Kennadee and Kaylee Baas of Melissa, Texas and Riley and Lailah Cagle of Patterson, California; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his daughter, Gathia Anderson and husband Walter; parents, Joe and Etta Hodge; step-mother, Rae Deason; brothers, Loyd Hodge and wife Cordelia, Lois Hodge, Floyd Hodge and wife Bonnie; sisters, Flora Eslick and husband George, Della Pearson and husband Otis, Nellie Anderson and husband Daniel and Edna Hampton and husband Travis; sister-in-law, Royce Hodge.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Caddo Church of Christ. A special viewing will be held from 9:30-10:00 before the service.

Burial will follow at Caddo Gethsemane Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Johnnie's grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewayne Hodge, David Hodge, Kevin Hodge, Charles Hodge, Rex Hodge, Hayes Hammond and Dude Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorial/contributions be sent to Caddo Church of Christ mission fund or Tipton's Children Home in Tipton, Oklahoma.
