Leslie Meadows Green was born October 3, 1935, in Durant, Oklahoma to Mildred (Guthrie) and Max Meadows. She lived in Durant, and Caddo, OK; Sherman, El Paso, Paris, Texarkana, and Dallas, TX; and in Anniston, AL, before putting down deep roots in Richardson, TX. Leslie attended Southeastern State College in Durant, OK, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in math in 1956.
She married Robert W. Green in September of 1956. Leslie spent most of her adult life as a homemaker, raising three children and serving the Camp Fire Girls of America in various capacities. She was a faithful member for over 50 years of First Presbyterian Church in Richardson, working as a printer and volunteering as a Sunday School teacher, Sew and Tell member, Bible Study and Circle member, and serving whenever and wherever needed. Leslie loved to visit her relatives in Caddo, OK, and always enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood. She enjoyed travelling, seeing new places, and collecting rocks from around the world.
Leslie was devoted to her family and would tell anyone who came near all about her grandchildren. She never missed Rawhide if she could help it and she delighted in working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, eating KitKats, and drinking Diet Coke. Leslie is survived by her sister, Elaine McCann and her husband Jim of Arlington, TX; daughters Lizabeth Nimz of Fort Worth, TX and Karen Wyatt and her husband Jeff of Abilene, TX; son Robert W. Green, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Austin, TX; grandchildren Marlene and Hillary Wyatt; Leslie and Richard Nimz; and Kirsten Wingo; great-grandchildren Johnathon and Alexander Wingo.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at her home in Richardson, TX. Memorial Service will be Thursday, July 9th, at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Richardson. Graveside service will be Thursday, July 9th, at 3:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma. Condolences may be offered at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK. Memorials may be sent to PBS (Public Broadcasting System) or First Presbyterian Church in Richardson.
