Faye Fanning passed from this life on Friday, April 6, 2012 in Caddo, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years 5 months and 28 days. She was born on Sunday, October 9, 1921 in Kingston, Oklahoma to Clifton Agbert and Mirtie Fay (Barnes) Reese. Faye married the love of her life J. D. Fanning in Colbert, Oklahoma on Friday, March 12, 1943. They celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary on March 12, 2012.
Faye was a special woman who committed her life to caring for her home and family. She enjoyed many things like gardening and especially watching her grandchildren participate in their many activities, like rodeos and basketball. Faye was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Caddo, Oklahoma. She gave of herself and her time whenever they needed her. Faye was also a member of the Caddo Round-up Club and the Bryan Co. Homemakers. However, most of all Faye loved her family and cherished the times they spent together.
Mrs. Fanning is survived by her husband, J.D. Fanning of Kenefic, Oklahoma; daughters, Sue Birdsong and husband Gary of Kenefic, Oklahoma, Glenda Haddock and husband Russell of Philadelphia, Oklahoma, and Trudy Lucas and husband Jim of Dorchester, Texas; granddaughters, Cindy Birdsong of Kenefic, Oklahoma, Jana Haddock of Durant, Oklahoma, Lindee Taylor of Celina, Texas, and Krista Lucas of Lubbock, Texas; grandson, Kurt Haddock of Rogers, Arkansas; great-granddaughters, Jessica Birdsong of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Kayla Haddock of Rogers, Arkansas, Chanlyr Taylor of Celina, Texas, Morgan Taylor of Sherman, Texas; great-grandsons, Tyler Haddock of Frisco, Texas, and Jex Taylor of Celina, Texas; brother, G.L. Reese and wife Loretta of Bethany, Oklahoma. Mrs. Fanning was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Mirtie Reese; brothers, Dewey and Paul Reese; sisters, Margaret Hargis and Joyce Thompson.
Family Hour will be from 5-6 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Caddo, Oklahoma with Jerry Combrink, Rev. Dewey Shaffer and Jeremy Parham officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Birdsong, Russell Haddock, Jim Lucas, Kurt Haddock, Jason Taylor, and Tyler Haddock.
