Lonnita Dugger was born on April 5, 1938 to Lonnie and Birtha (Hicks) Jackson. She passed away February 5, 2018. Lonnita was dearly loved by her daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren as well as many relatives and friends.
Lonnita was born in rural Atoka county and grew up with loving parents and 11 siblings. She had fond memories and lots of stories about attending Maytubby two room school house and graduating high school in Kenefic OK. After briefly attending OSU she moved to Dallas to work as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell. She retired in 1990 with AT&T.
She loved being out of doors; feeding and taming local wildlife, mowing and sitting on her porch with family and her 3 cats. Her most loved treat was enjoying a meal at Luby’s Cafeteria with her daughter.
Lonnita is preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Bertha (Hicks) Jackson. Siblings: Jack Jackson, Thad Jackson, Kelly Jackson and Audra Hall. Lonnita is survived by her daughter Payge Kenyon and son-in-law Hal, her grandson Rendon Kenyon and wife Jennifer and granddaughter Afton Kenyon. Siblings; Flodell Brewer, Gail Ripple, Berva White, Dortha Hawkins, Vernell Jackson, Nelta Daily, Zelma Phillips and her best friend Lavern Seidel.
Lonnita will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly; most of all by her only daughter Payge.
Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Wednesday February 7th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday February 8th at the Voca Baptist Church in Caney, Oklahoma. Burial will be at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma. The pallbearers will be Rendon Kenyon, Chase Phillips, Landon Green, Ahmad El-Katib, Garrett Green and Preston Green.
