James "Corky" Crumley, a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away in Ardmore, Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the age of 83 years 9 months and 25 days. He was born in Armstrong, Oklahoma on Saturday, June 15, 1929 to James M. and Eva Ester (McPherson) Crumley, Sr. Corky married Betty Pearson in Bonham, Texas on Tuesday, November 27, 1956.

James “Corky” was proud of his military service in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also served his community as a police officer and Police Chief. James retired after 38 years of service in the National Guard.

Mr. Crumley is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; daughter, Jamie Crumley of Wylie, Texas; step-son, Robert McCaslin of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Crumley of Princeton, Texas, Andy McCaslin of Fletcher, Oklahoma and Bradley McCaslin of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cail McCaslin of Fletcher, Oklahoma; nieces, Janie Ruth McCallie of Warrior, Alabama and Linda Sue Taylor of Warrior, Alabama; and aunt, Bernadine McPherson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mr. Crumley was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eva Crumley.

A Graveside Service was held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 11, 2013at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo with Rev. Dan McLemore officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy McCaslin, Benjamin Davidoff, Ronnie Davidoff and Ross Davis.
