Betty “Snookie” Crumley, a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and resident of Wylie, Texas passed from this life on Friday March 31, 2017 at the age of 83. She was born in Durant, Oklahoma on July 3, 1933 to Dump Virgil and Birdie Lee (Whitfield) Pearson. Betty Pearson married James “Corky” Crumley in Bonham, Texas on November 27, 1956.
Betty was a member of the Presbyterian faith. Betty always strived to keep her beloved family in touch with each other. She loved to be outside in her garden, and knitting. Betty enjoyed spending time with her beloved Trixie.
Mrs. Crumley is survived by her children, Jamie Crumley of Wylie, Texas and Robert McCaslin of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jennifer Crumley and Ben Davidoff of Princeton, Texas, Andrew McCaslin and wife Sarah of Fletcher, Oklahoma and Bradley McCaslin of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cael McCaslin of Fletcher, Oklahoma; sisters, Joyce Cooper of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and BJ Dafforn of Lawton, Oklahoma; brother, Stan Pearson and wife Joan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; aunt, Bernadine McPherson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Crumley was preceded in death by her grandfather, David Crockett Whitfield; parents, Dump and Birdie Pearson; husband, James “Corky” Crumley; sister, Dorothy Miller; nephew, Terry Pearson; and niece, Janie Beery.
The family respectfully request that memorials/donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the Wounded Warrior project or a charity of your choice.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday April 4th at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma with Pastor Jesse West officiating.
