James E. Crawford a longtime resident of Caddo, Oklahoma passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Monday, May 28, 2012 at the age of 62 years 2 months and 26 days. He was born in Poteau, Oklahoma to Glen and Truda (Halpain) Crawford on Thursday, March 2, 1950. James married Mattie Cleo “Cookie” Helton in Poteau, Oklahoma on Saturday, June 14, 1969.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Blue River Fellowship Church in Caddo, Oklahoma. James had a great personality and enjoyed meeting new people and visiting with old friends and family. He loved being outdoors and would go camping and hunting whenever possible. James especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, and playing with his dog "Patches".
Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife, Cookie of the home; sons, Wesley Crawford of Caddo, Oklahoma and Cody Crawford and wife Bonnie of Caddo, Oklahoma; daughters, Serena Price and husband Alan of Caddo, Oklahoma and Rachel Greenwood and husband Robert of Caddo, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jeff Dean of Savannah, Georgia, Corey Price of Tushka, Oklahoma, Dylan Crawford of Caddo, Oklahoma, Nathan Price of Coalgate, Oklahoma, Tyler Price of Coalgate, Oklahoma, Jim Bob Crawford of Caddo, Oklahoma, Steven Crawford of Caddo, Oklahoma, Brooke Crawford of Caddo, Oklahoma, Colton Price of Caddo, Oklahoma, Cady Crawford of Caddo, Oklahoma and Raleigh Greenwood of Caddo, Oklahoma; sister, Ann Viqneaux and husband Randy of Pryor, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Truda Crawford.
Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Caddo, Oklahoma with Bro. Mack Chambers officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Crawford, Wesley Crawford, Alan Price, Robert Greenwood, Ken Barfield and Billy Boydstun. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Owen, Utah Nation, Gary Romine, Paul Dickson, Clarence Haney, Gary Pugh and Jim Baker.
