Ralph Stonewall Washer, 91, of Colbert, passed away October 1, 2008, at Texoma Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Platter Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Heath and Rev. Bill Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert. Pallbearers will be Mike Washer Jr., Shane Giesler, Chad Washer, Todd Giesler, Derek Washer, Travis Washer, Rusty Giesler, Jeremy Washer and Ranse Michael Giesler. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons David Cavens, Matthew Musselwhite, Brandon Beauchamp, Matthew Musselwhite, Brandon Beauchamp, Matthew Washer, Dillon Cummins and Zachary Thomas.

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodward St., Denison, Texas, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. today.

Ralph was born on March 21, 1917, in Platter to John and Effie Verble Washer.

He married Dorothy Mae Redfern on September 30, 1937 in Colbert.

He proudly served in the 612th Field Artillery Battalion, Battery B, of the United States Army.

Ralph worked in maintenance for Safeway for more than 18 years.

He was a member of Platter Baptist Church and loved to make music and entertain people.

Ralph was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Dwight; granddaughter Kathy Denise; great-granddaughters Saige Balza and Reagan Lowery; his parents; brothers Melvin, Olin, Arley and Fred; sisters Carrie Washer, Mary Washer, Maude Washer, Ruby Wiley, Grace Richardson, Mary Harville, Pearl Onstott, Willie Waltman and Josie Washer.

Ralph is survived by his wife; sons, Ronald and wife Laura of Platter, Jimmy and wife Shonda of Sanger, Texas, Michael and wife Virginia of Colbert, Terry and wife Dixie of Cartwright and Johnny and wife Corey of Savoy; daughters Tuana Giesler and husband Ronnie of Colbert, Debbie Owen of Denison, Texas, Dana McKinney and husband Buddy of Platter and Jill Siebman and husband Marcus of Sadler; sisters Amy McGraw of Denison, Texas, and Pauline Tannihill of Brawley, Calif.; 33 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Bratcher Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
