Anna Lee Summitt Sorrell

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Coffey-Murray Chapel for Anna Lee Summitt Sorrell, 67, of Colbert, who passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Wilson N. Jones in Sherman, Texas. Rev. Jared McIntire will officiate.

She was born Saturday, February 8, 1941, in Durant, to Joseph David and Violet Mae Hughes Summitt.

She married T. L. Sorrell in Durant on April 20, 1959.

She was a homemaker, loved the great outdoors, camping, fishing and traveling. She also loved collecting Santa Clauses.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. In later years, she raised chickens and sold farm fresh eggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of the home; sons, Thural Sorrell II and wife Lynn of Colbert; sisters Anita Strange and Tammy Bowler and husband Jimmy, all of Colbert; sister Judy Thompson and husband Dale of Tuscon, Ariz.; uncle Clyde Summitt and wife Betty of Florida; aunt Lou Hughes of Durant; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thural "Little T." Lester Sorrell II, James "Jimmy" Ray Bowler, Cody Ray Brown, Jessee David Bowler, James "Tony" Anthony Bowler and Steven Lee Sorrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Danetta Lea Bowler, Stacy Darlene Sorrell and Kayla Michelle Strange.

Family hour will be from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. today at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the Garden of Memories in Colbert.

Coffey-Murray is handling the arrangements.
