Darla Diane Whitten Ross

Darla Diane Ross, age 68, went to her heavenly home March 11th 2026 at 6:30 a.m Denison, TX surrounded by her loved ones.

Darla was born to her parents Lemmuel and Thelma Whitten on September 23rd 1957 in Sherman, Texas. Darla lived a hard but beautiful life. She faced many battles in this life but never let it knock her down. She held compassion and grace for others and always jumped at the chance to help someone in need. She was selfless and cared deeply for her family and friends.

Darla was a devout Christian that spent her life seeking Jesus. She often would quote Philippians 4:13 which reads "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." She leaned on her faith to get her through each day. She loved to sing, listen to music, watch movies, and ultimately loved to be surrounded by those she loved.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Lemmuel & Thelma Whitten, brothers; Steven Whitten, Warren Proffer & Michael Moore along with multiple angel babies including her twins Johnathan & Lisa Jackson, and great grandbaby Theodore Campbell.

She is survived by her siblings; Michael & Toni Whitten, Debra Lemmones, & Rhonda Melton. Her children; Ricky Jackson & Rebecca Hill, Melody Vaughn and Chris Vaughn. Grandchildren; Cheyanne Rushing & Johnathan Campbel, Cody Rushing & Kaitlyn Rushing, Kelli Martin, and Alannah Hill. Great grandchildren; Ainslee, Kenzie, Sophie, and Ellie. Cousin Paula Wright & family. Along with many more cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, March 14th, 2026, at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert, OK. There will be a public viewing and visitation at 10:00AM, and a graveside service to follow at 11:00AM.

Paul Bearers will include; Michael Whitten, Ricky Jackson, Chris Vaughn, Cody Rushing, Johnathan Campbell, Welton Wright and Matthew Brooks
