Edwin Joseph Richardson was born on December 24, 1934, in Big Springs, Texas, to Ace and Vonnie Richardson. He was raised alongside his siblings in Kemp, Oklahoma. In 1954, Ed joined the Navy and served until 1960. He married Patsy Swain in 1957. They had four daughters together. Ed opened and ran a business named Rimco with his brothers; they built campers from 1964 to 1975. He spent his younger years as a skilled bricklayer. His free time was spent fishing, camping, and boating with family and friends on Lake Texoma. Ed married his second wife, Sue Carter, in 1973. He became a carpenter shortly after and fell in love with hunting. Ed was the District Zone Commander for the American Legion from 1990 to 1992. Ed married Norman Brown in 1993. Ed enjoyed hosting and cooking for family and friends. He threw numerous BBQs and fish fries in his shop. Ed passed from this life at Texoma Medical Center in Denison Texas on Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was just twelve days shy of turning 90!
Ed was preceded in death by parents Ace and Vonnie Richardson, infant daughter, wife Norma Richardson, Brothers Ernest, Elvis, Jimmy, and Sonny, Sisters Nine Bounds, Phyllis Blankenship, and Clara Turnbull.
Ed is survived by daughter Tammy Start and husband Eddy of Harrah, Oklahoma, Daughter Mary Brake and husband Neil of Stillwater, Ok, Daughter Pamela Weger and husband Michael of Colbert, Ok, Sister Patricia Garvin and husband Paul of Cartwright, Ok, Grandson Andy and wife Celeste of Norman, Ok, Granddaughter Amanda Bates of Stillwater, Ok, Grandson E.J. Start and wife Mindi of Bethany, Ok, granddaughter Malorie Weger of Colbert, Ok, Granddaughter Marissa Andrews and husband Jacob of Colbert, Ok. Eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Family night will be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday 13, 2024 at Cunningham Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m.Saturday at Cunningham Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Speers officiating, Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Andrews, Addison Frieling, Anthony Ned, Andrew Start, E.J. Start, Brent Watkins, and Walker Weger.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Deshawn Bates, Mike Fulkerson, Freddy Rucker, Joey Start and Ronnie Wines.
