Hoss (I.F.) Reeves entered this life on December 24, 1925 at home East of Colbert, OK born to Ira Fulton Sr. and Eula Lee (Willeford) Reeves and departed this life to his Heavenly home on January 4, 2016 in Denison, TX at the of 90 years.
Hoss married the love of his life, Billie Fisher on August 10, 1946 and they began their journey together that has lasted 69 years. Hoss worked as a masonry contractor all his life and they returned to Bryan County 46 years ago. He was a dedicated member of the Platter Baptist Church and he enjoyed his cattle, riding his tractor and was always helping others in need. He deeply loved his family, making them his number one priority.
Hoss is survived by his loving sweet wife, Billie Reeves of the home; sons, Reedy Reeves and wife Kris of Pottsboro, TX and Mark Reeves and wife Lisa of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Melisa Rodden and husband Kevin of Checotah, OK, Zachary Reeves of Denver, CO, Taylor Reeves of Oklahoma City, OK, Seth Reeves of Durant, OK and Emma Reeves of Durant, OK; great grandchildren Brayden, Brock, Braynna, and Brody Rodden; siblings, Virgie Reynolds of Carrollton, TX, C.R. “Sonny” Reeves and wife Jimmie of Cartwright, Ina Simmons and husband Hal of Albuquerque, NM and Jimmy Reeves of Dallas, TX and numerous extended family and dear friends.
Hoss was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Eula Reeves; brothers, Howard, Vernon and Maurice Reeves and sister, Nancy Nix.
Funeral services to celebrate Hoss’s life will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Platter Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Robinson and Bro. Donald Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories in Colbert with Steve Reeves, Barry Reeves, Zachary Reeves, Taylor Reeves, Seth Reeves and Ricky Manery serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lakeway Resale Barn 518 FM 120 West Pottsboro, TX 75076.
