Geneva Lorell (Reeves) Raines age 88, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, with her daughter Jodi by her side. Geneva was born on June 22, 1935, in Cartwright, Oklahoma to parents Cecil Roads and Maude Elizabeth (Hutson) Reeves. Geneva married Leamon Oscar Raines and they were united in marriage until Leamon's passing on January 21, 2006. She worked as a supervisor for Levi Strauss and Starr Aircraft as an interior designer until her retirement. Geneva moved to Durant in December of 2022 from Denison, Texas. She was of the Baptist Faith, and she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and she had a deep love for her family and friends.
Geneva is preceded in death by her husband Leamon Oscar Raines; parents Cecil and Maude Reeves; daughter Donna Jean Mosley; 6 brothers; 1 sister and 1 granddaughter.
Geneva is survived by her daughters Jodi Ethridge of Durant, OK and Sandra Henson of Denison, TX; son David Staffy and wife Kathy of Talihina, OK; brother Aaron Reeves of Pace, FL; son-in-law Jim Mosley of Durant, OK; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Geneva's life will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 7, 2024, at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Don Fentem will officiate. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
