WJ Porterfield Jr, known affectionately as Dub to his friends and loved ones, passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 83 in Colbert, Oklahoma. Dub was born on June 29, 1941, and dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his community.

Dub was a steadfast Christian, worshiping and serving at Platter Baptist Church in Platter, Oklahoma. He was a beloved family man, survived by his wife, Della Porterfield; his son, James Porterfield; grandchildren, Ashley Porterfield, Whitney Shearin, Jonathon Graham; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Ann Porterfield, and son, Randall Dale Porterfield.

He then went on to establish and operate Dub's Appliance Service from January 1, 1970, until his retirement on June 1, 2014. His business not only served the community but also provided a gathering spot for friends and neighbors.
