Buddy Eugene McKinney 84, of Cartwright, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday morning July 6, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born July 18, 1936 to Glen and Justine Davis McKinney.
Buddy attended schools in Colbert, Oklahoma in which he left early and joined the Navy at age 17. He served over 11 years and after leaving the military he worked numerous jobs including the Cotton Mill and Frisco Railroad. Later he became self-employed and opened Buddy's garage in Colbert for over 20 years. He then worked for Mueller Construction until retirement. Buddy enjoyed going camping and spending time at deer camp with Family and Friends. Buddy cherished the time he spent with his Family especially his Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wives Martha Belle and Sandy; Daughter Kathryn and Son Roy. Grandchildren Joey and Saige. Brothers and Sisters J.C. D.G. Hazel, Mildred and Maxine.
Survivors include his Daughter Genia of Cartwright, OK. Sons Buddy, Jr. and wife Dana of Platter, OK. Robert of Denison, TX. Mark and wife Robin of Cartwright, OK and Kendra and husband Craig of Denison, TX. 14 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Brother Hopper McKinney and Sister Linda Etchieson both of Calera, OK.
A Funeral Service for Buddy McKinney will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning July 9, 2021 at Cunningham Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert. Pallbearers will be Henry Cummins, Shawn Metcalf, Paul Taylor, Shawn Taylor, Malachi Lewis and Gaven Taylor. Honorary Bearers will be Jaxon Baeza, Brady Blakey and Christopher Washer. Family night will be from 6-8 Thursday night at the funeral home. The register book may be signed and condolences sent to the family online @ cunninghamfuneralhomesok.com
