Clint Charles Lyde, 73. of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away Sunday evening, July 24, 2011, at Southern Pointe Living Center in Colbert, Oklahoma.
He was born December 29, 1937, in Hobart, Oklahoma and attended Gotebo, Oklahoma schools.
He was the son of Clint Bay and Fern Haxton Lyde.
He served in the Army during the Korean conflict and reactivated in Cuba. While helping build HWY 75 through Colbert, he met and married Jan Hannan in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
He was a sales representative for Wonder Bread Hostess Cake for 41 years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Candice Martin Kashou.
Surviving are his sons, Brett Lyde and Sadie Brown of Bells, Texas, Bryan Lyde and wife Alice of Denison, Texas, Bradley Lyde of Hominy, Oklahoma and Brandon Lyde of Colbert, Oklahoma; daughter, Angela Bennett and husband Anthony of Colbert; sister, Lydia Hooper and husband Mark of Mt. View, Oklahoma, grandsons, Andrew Jackson and Brian Wood of Denison, Texas and Jonathan Lyde of Howe, Texas. granddaughters, Mandy Osbourne of Denison, Texas, Casey, Toni, Marie and Paige Bennett all of Colbert, Oklahoma and Emily Langlois and Kristi McCray of Louisiana as well as sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Clint Charles Lyde will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning July 27, 2011, in Cunningham Funeral Chapel in Colbert with Mr. Quinton Gage officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert.
Pallbearers will be Scott Hair, James Coble, Henry Cummins, James Ridling, Scott Ridling and Marcus Rendon.
Family night will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma.
