Jan Hannan Lyde, age 83 of Colbert, Oklahoma returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Beacon Hill, Denison, Tx.

Jan suffered from a series of strokes following the death of her son, Charles Bradley Lyde.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024 at Cunningham Funeral Home, Colbert, Ok. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memory cemetery in Colbert. The family will receive friends one hour prior of service.

Jan was born on October 9, 1940 to Talmage and Edna Hestily Hannan. She graduated from Colbert High School and attended Southeastern College in Durant. She was married to Clint Charles Lyde at Anadarko, Oklahoma. Jan worked for IBM and Texas Instruments, Gibsons and Wal-Mart hardware departments. After retiring from Wal-Mart Jan and her twin sister Joan traveled the south visiting courthouses, libraries and cemeteries, completing their family ancestry. She always enjoyed thrifting, and looking for her next great find. She and Joan cared for the Colbert Garden of Memory Cemetery for many years, well up into their 70s. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when needed the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in Colbert, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Talmage and Edna Hestily Hannan, her husband, Clint Charles Lyde. Son Charles Bradley Lyde, grandson Charles Brandon Lyde, granddaughter Candice Nichole Martin Kashou, twin sister Joan Turner and brother

She is survived by son Brett Lyde and partner Sadie Brown of Bells, TX. Daughter Angela Bennett and husband Anthony of Colbert. Son David Bryan Lyde and wife Alice of Pottsboro, TX. Grandsons Jonathan Lyde and wife Billie, of Sherman Tx, Andrew Jackson of Cartwright, Oklahoma. Granddaughters Cassandra Foster and spouse Natalie of Durant, Ok. Toni Marie Tackett and husband Jayme, Paige Bennett and partner Joseph Sumner of Colbert, Ok. Brian Wood Pottsboro, TX. and Mandy Osborne of Denison, TX.

Great grandchildren Jake and Jacie Lyde. HarlieJo Ortiz, Kendra, Katelynn and Erica Tackett, Eloise and Harrison Sumner. Demi and Addi Jackson. Payten Lyde.

Pallbearers will be Stan Turner, Dustan Turner, Andrew Jackson, Jonathan Lyde, Jayme Tackett and Henry Cummins.
