Katie Kathleen Hestily Jones 95, of Colbert, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday afternoon December 11, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 21, 1913, in Woodson, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late Henry Harrell and Ester Catherine Nunn Hestily.
She attended Colbert schools and was a 1933 Colbert graduate.
She was employed with Texas Instruments for over 20 years and was a member of Harless Methodist Church in Denison, Texas.
She was lovingly known as Gangummer and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband B. E. Jones and all her brothers and sisters, Burl Hestily, Edna Hannan, Clara Rowland, Jack Hestily, Bessie Owens, Ollie Lasater, Buck Hestily and Ed Hestily.
She is survived by her son, Jim Duncan Ridling and wife Colleen of Colbert, Oklahoma, son, Paul Jones and daughter Neva Harvey, grandchildren Laurie Bassett, Kay Beth Bledsoe and husband Mike, Scott Ridling and wife Carolyn, all of Colbert, Oklahoma and James Ridling of Denison, Texas. great-grandchildren Jim Ann Haile and husband Daniel, Benjamin Bassett, all of Colbert, Okla., Lacy Cooper and husband Robert of Achille, Okla., and Nicholas Cantrell of Fargo, N. D., great-great-grandchildren Chance Haile of Colbert, Okla., Aaron and Colin Bassett of Caddo, Okla., Libby and Scout Jones and Haden Cooper all of Achille, Okla., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Katie Hestily Jones will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Colbert United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory in Colbert.
There is no scheduled family night. Viewing will be an hour prior to the service at the church Monday morning.
