JW Jones, born on February 12, 1948, in Boswell, Oklahoma, passed away on June 30, 2026, in Bokchito, Oklahoma, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a spirited personality that will be remembered by all who knew him. He was the son of the late Early Jones and Mary Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Savannah Jones, and by his brothers, Albert Jones and Curtis Jones. He is survived by his children, Tina Pendleton, Connie Bruza, Bruce Jones, and his stepchildren Raymond Butcher, Dennis Butcher, and Charles Butcher. He also leaves behind his brother, John Jones, his sister, Larita Barcheers. His grandchildren include Nick Jones, Jeremie Jones, Christina Haywood, Rachel Martin, Austin Bruza, Rebecca Baxter, Hannah Bruza, Robby Jones, and Brandon Jones, along with many nieces, nephews, and a large family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy.<[p>
JW spent his life working with his hands and taking pride in a job well done. He worked as a pipe fitter, helped build powerplants, spent time in the oil field, and also built trailers. He was known for being handy and for having the kind of practical skill that made him valuable wherever he went. His work ethic was strong, and he carried himself with the steady determination of a man who knew the value of labor and responsibility. He also served his country in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and commitment.
Those who knew JW will remember that he was passionate in all that he did. He had a strong personality and a way of making his presence known. He enjoyed visiting with his family, and those conversations were often filled with laughter, teasing, and the kind of good-natured aggravation he seemed to enjoy so much. He loved to pick and aggravate, and that part of him became one of the many things his family will hold close in memory. His sense of humor and his lively spirit left a lasting impression on the people around him.
JW's life was centered around family, and he found great meaning in the time he spent with those he loved. He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence helped shape the lives of many. The bonds he formed with his children and grandchildren were deeply important to him, and his family will remember him not only for what he did, but for who he was. He was a man of strength, character, and heart, and he will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing leaves a void in the lives of his loved ones, but his memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the family traditions carried forward. The legacy he leaves behind is one of hard work, faithfulness to family, and a life lived with passion and purpose. JW Jones will be remembered with love and respect by his family and all who knew him.
