Curtis H. Gunter a resident of Roberta, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the age of 49 years 9 months and 1 day. He was born to Hugh Wesley and Ella Kay (Doty) Gunter in Denison, Texas on Sunday, January 3, 1965. Curtis married Reneé Lockler in Fannin County, Texas on Friday, March 2, 2001.

Curtis owned and operated Curtis Gunter's Construction and Remodeling Company. He worked with Steve Wingfield for many years. Curtis enjoyed hunting, fishing and exploring while looking for arrowheads. But the most important thing to Curtis was his children and grandchildren and the time they spent together.

Mr. Gunter is survived by his wife, Reneé Gunter of the home; son, Chris Dotson and wife Beverly of Pottsboro, Texas; daughter, Candace Harwood and husband Andy of Roberta, Oklahoma; brothers, Joe Gunter and wife Tonya of Denison, Texas, Wade Gunter of Roberta, Oklahoma, Timmy Gunter and wife Loretta of Whitewright, Texas and Tony Gunter and wife Laura of Nevada; sister, Rogena Lopez of Roberta, Oklahoma; mother, Ella Kay Beal of Roberta, Oklahoma: step-father, Joseph "Billy" Beal of Roberta, Oklahoma; step-sisters, Christi Beal and Shanna Beal of Madill, Oklahoma; step-brother Jody Beal of Madill, Oklahoma and 6 grandchildren.

Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Wesley Gunter; and brother, Hugh Wesley Gunter, Jr.

A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant with Chaplain Leon Hass officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Colbert, Oklahoma. The pallbearers will be Nick Gunter, Chad Gunter, Cody Gunter, Chris Bryan, Bubba Lopez, Trey Nabb, Craig Goodin and Scott Hair.
