Juanita “Grandma” Bruce, 94, of Colbert, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Monday, February 18, 2019, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She had strong love for all children and fostered many kids during her life. She enjoyed quilting, playing dominoes and watching her boys play baseball. If you had the pleasure of knowing Grandma Bruce, you know she was always full of wit. She had enough attitude and sass to fill an entire stadium. She was one of a kind and no one will ever be able to fill her shoes.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Fate and Kate Rucker; husband, Judge Bruce; sister, Mazola Collins; brothers: Fred Rucker and Don Rucker; sons: Wayne Bruce and Roy Bruce; grandchild, Rob Mincey and great-grandchild, Mikayla Kinzie Smith.
She is survived by her brother, Roy Rucker; children: Susan Morris and husband Ronald Dean, Connie Mincey, Randy Bruce, Linda Smith and husband Tom, Melissa McKinney and husband Phillip, Emma Lafferty and 93 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Colbert, Oklahoma, at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2019. Graveside service will immediately follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert, Oklahoma, with Monty Bruce, Jeff Morris, Sam Smith, Daniel Bruce, Benjamin Grace, and Randall Howard serving as pallbearers, along with Ethan Lafferty serving as honorary pallbearer.
Family night will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019, between 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma.
