Wilma Jean Brown, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, joined her Lord and Savior in Denison, Texas on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the age of 86 years, and 9 months. She was born on September 18, 1930 in Durant, Oklahoma to George Isaac and Bertie (Stanford) Armstrong. Wilma Jean Armstrong married Jesse C. Brown of Calera, Oklahoma on August 16, 1949 in Denison, Texas. They had one son, and one daughter, both born on January 10th, but two years apart.

Wilma Jean worked at the Durant Drug Store for 38 years, ten of those years she worked for E.C. Stribling, and the remainder of the time for Charles Villines. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant for most of her life.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Lisa Rudd and husband Wayne of Commerce, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sue Brown of Denison, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Brown and wife Jennifer of Denison, Texas, Tony Brown and wife Anita of Bells, Texas, Daniel Rudd of Austin, Texas, and Alison Rudd of Denver, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Jessica Letz and husband Jarod, Rebeka, Jonathan, Alyssa, and Jayda Brown, the children of Michael and Jennifer, and Kaitlyn and Lane Brown, the children of Tony and Anita.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertie Armstrong; husband, Jesse C. Brown; son, David Lynn Brown; 4 sisters and 3 brothers; and granddaughter, Stormie Horizon Brown.

Family Hour will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday June 21, 2017 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Colbert with Bro. Darel Bunch officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Steve Miller, Roy Badger, Charles Villines, Don Herron, James Granger, James Lynn, Johnny Jones, Mike Morris, and Robert Samuel Bokies.
