Andy Barnes of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 57 years 7 months and 18 days. He was born on Saturday, April 17, 1954 in Durant, Oklahoma to Ernest and Lucille (Tipton) Barnes. Andy married Deborah Hale in Nocona, Texas on Saturday, June 6, 1981.

Mr. Barnes enjoyed working with children and the youth of his community. He was a youth pastor at Trinity Foursquare Church in Gainesville, Texas for a time. Due to his commitment to the welfare of children he chose to be a Houseparent for the Presbyterian Childrens Home in Itasca, Texas. Andy was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Itasca, Texas where he also served as an elder in the Church. He loved adventure and would fly hangliders, operate radio controlled airplanes, and engage in shooting sports. Andy loved to work with his hands doing woodwork.

Andy is survived by his wife, Debbie Barnes of the home; daughters, Nicki Truesdell of Gainsville, Texas and Amandah Tanner of Weatherford, Texas; mother, Lucille Barnes of Armstrong, Oklahoma; brother, Kim Barnes of Terral, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Cade Holliday, Claudia Smith, Sydney Holliday, Emma Holliday, Chloe Smith, Jarah Holliday, Wyatt Tanner, Nicholas Truesdell, Levi Tanner, Nathan Truesdell and Catie Truesdell.

Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Barnes. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at the Folsom Freewill Baptist Church, in Folsom (Coleman), Oklahoma with Rev. Eric Dennis and Rev. Raydon Whitmire officiating. Interment will follow at the Coleman Cemetery, Coleman, Oklahoma.
