Johnny Joines, a longtime resident of Caddo, Oklahoma passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the age of 87 years 2 months and 14 days. He was born in Caddo, Oklahoma to John and Josie Dollar Joines on November 16, 1926.
He married Pauline Haddock on December 24,1951 in Sherman,Texas.
Johnny had a deep respect for his land and spent his life caring for it and his cattle. He was noted for being an excellent horseman and steer and calf roper. Johnny was a founding member and participant of the Round-Up Club in Caddo, Oklahoma. He also found time to be a School Bus Driver for the Caddo School.
Mr. Joines is survived by twenty one nieces and nephews and sister-in-laws, Betty Hyde and Sarah Joines of Caddo, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in by parents, John and Josie Joines; wife, Pauline Joines; brothers, William, Paul and Orel J. Joines; sisters, Ila Thornton, Nina Witherspoon, Faye Warrick, Claudene Warrick and Ilene Joines .
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with his nephew John Michael Thornton officiating.
Interment will follow at Caddo Cemetery, with his nephews serving as honorary pallbearers.
