Betty Jo (Brackett) Trammell passed away peacefully from a short illness at her home on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the age of 91. She was born on December 18, 1930, in Bennington, Oklahoma to James Calvin Brackett and Dora Estella Sparks. She married the love of her life, George David (Jack) Trammell in Denison, Texas, on November 1, 1948.
Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her kids and taking care of the home, including assisting her husband with the farm. She loved kids so much that she even went back to school, and graduated from SOSU. She taught at Big 5 Head Start, Choctaw Nation Headstart in Bennington, and Grant School. After leaving education, she worked for Walmart. She enjoyed traveling with the Roadrunners in the Baptist Association. Some of Betty’s favorite pastimes were reading, working in her flower garden, and spending time with her Shih-Tzu, Bella. She was also a great seamstress that could alter or fix anything. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Betty is survived by five children and their spouses, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and 2 more expected soon.

Grandson, Greg Trammell and wife Carlee, great-granddaughter Kaylee and husband Dakota, great-great-granddaughters Paislee and Renlee, great-grandson Michael and wife Paige, great-granddaughters Andee and Amree; Grandson Jody Trammell, great-granddaughter Madison; Granddaughter Amanda Robinson, great-granddaughters Emily and Ella.
Daughter, Sandy Sims and husband Howard of Howe, OK. Grandson, Chad Beames and wife Leiah, great-granddaughters, Hannah and husband Logan, great-great grandchildren Sydney and Parker, great-granddaughter Allison and husband Seth, great-granddaughter Rachel. Granddaughter Michelle Childers and husband Donald, great-grandchildren Cole, MiKayla, and Skyler. Grandson, Anthony Allen and wife Duchess, great-grandsons Mason and Connor. Grandson David Sims and wife Stephanie, great-grandchildren Colby, Jeanie, and Sophie.
Daughter, Theresa Keiss and husband Meryle of Watson, OK. Grandson, Christopher Keiss, great-grandchildren Jarrett, Alex, and Karlee. Grandson Travis Keiss and wife Chana, great-granddaughters, Roxee and Rowyn. Grandson Tyler Keiss and wife Katelyn, great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Eloise Beth (Elli).
Daughter, Pam Wingfield and husband Ricky of Caddo, OK. Granddaughter Heather Wingfield, great-granddaughter Mikenzie Wingfield. Grandson Ryan Wingfield and wife Tina, great-grandchildren Brooke, Ryder, and Rylee.
Son, Ray Trammell and wife Sue of Ardmore, OK. Grandson, Curtis Stinson and wife Stephanie, great-grandchildren Cali, Hunter, and Lexi. Grandson Chris Stinson. Granddaughter Taylor Salter and husband Justin, great-grandson Miles.
One sister-in-law, Maude Lena Smith, and many special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, her parents and 12 siblings.
Family hour will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 6-8:00 pm at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK. Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 2:00pm at the Bennington First Baptist Church in Bennington, OK with Bro. Jay Perry and Bro. Roger Speers officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, OK. Serving as pallbearers will be Betty’s grandchildren.
