Josephine Sangster of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed from this life on December 25, 2022 at the age of 97 years old. She was born on September 13, 1925 in Cooper, Texas to Jonathan Asbury Colbert, Sr and Queen Victoria (Laycook) Colbert.
Josephine was a wonderful homemaker, taking care of her family and her home. She was known for serving others and tending to the elderly. She enjoyed cooking, doing beadwork, making jewelry, and sewing. She was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Catherine Joann Noland of Huffman, Texas, son Jerry Wayne Jeffreys of Bokchito, Oklahoma, her sister Goldie Victory and brother John Colbert, Jr both of Bonham, Texas. Her legacy lives on with her grandsons Allen Ray Noland of Huffman, Texas, Billy Bert White, Jr of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Jonathan Lee White of Durant, Oklahoma, Weldon Wayne White of Durant, Oklahoma, Robert Franklin White of Durant, Oklahoma, James Micheal Partridge of Cumby, Texas, Keith Wayne Partridge of Cumby, Texas, Brandon Michael Jeffreys of the Austin area, Wayne Turner Jeffreys also of Austin area, her granddaughters Brenda Gayle Tullis of Montgomery, Texas, Cindy Lavonne Stuckey of Ash Flat, Arkansas, Dayna Michelle Eicholz of Spring, Texas, Debra Kaye Davis of Cumby, Texas, Amanda Nicole Jeffreys of the Austin area, and Rebecca LeeAnn Jeffreys of the Austin area, her sons-in-law Forrest Allen Noland of Huffman, Texas and James Douglas Partridge of Cumby, Texas, her daughter-in-law Shirley Martin of Roberta, Oklahoma as well as a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jonathan Colbert, Sr and Queen Victoria Colbert, her husbands Walter Bert White, Franklin Turner Jeffrey and Earl McKlene Sangster, infant son Clyde Max Jeffreys, son Billy Bert White, son Charles Weldon White, and daughter Donna Kay Partridge.
A funeral service for Josephine is set for Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Philip Marical officiating. A family hour of visitation is scheduled for an hour before the funeral service from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Josephine will be laid to rest at the Bokchito Cemetery following the funeral service.
Those serving as pallbearers are Allen Ray Noland, Billy Bert White, Jr, Jonathan Lee White, Weldon Wayne White, Robert Franklin White, Taner James Partridge, and Keith Wayne Partridge.
