Margaret L. Rodgers passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the age of 80 years 2 months and 30 days. She was born on Saturday, September 12, 1931 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Irby G. and Lennie (Brackett) Metcalf. Margaret married Bill Rodgers in Celina, Texas on Friday, December 28, 1973.

Margaret considered herself a proud member of the Choctaw Tribe. She owned and operated Margos Beauty Salon for many years. Margaret loved to dance, go dancing with Bill, shopping, garage sales, flea markets and chili cookoffs. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Margaret loved her dogs Sampson and Little Girl (the family sometimes thought she loved her dogs more than them) but most of all she loved her family and they believed she was a special person and mother.

Mrs. Rodgers is survived by her husband, Bill Rodgers of the home; daughters, Laquita Cobb of Durant, Oklahoma and Christy Hill and husband David of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Anthony Kinnett and wife Della of Frisco, Texas; brother, Bob Metcalf and wife Helen of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jason Cobb and wife Gail of Durant, Oklahoma, Shawn Cobb of Durant, Oklahoma, Lori Hines and husband Michael of Durant, Oklahoma and Stephanie Trout and husband Nathan of Kingston, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Jake, Ashley, Megan, Camron, Tyler, Dylan, Shawn, Jodan, Bryson, Amanda, Jessica, Holy, Ericka, Krista, Nicky Josh and baby girl soon to arrive; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her parents, Irby G. and Lennie Metcalf; brothers, Irby Metcalf and Alva Metcalf; sister, Thelma Marshall.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Cobb, Camron Cobb, Ashley Cobb, Jack Cobb, Jordan Westmoreland, Trevor Moore, and Rocky McDaniel.
