Julia Eloise Riggs a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma passed from this life at her home on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the age of 83. She was born on June 2, 1932 in Albany, Oklahoma to John Lasley and Julia Ann (Gaines) Vaughan.

Julia worked as the Social & Activities Director for the Caddo Nursing Home. She loved to be outside gardening and quietly reading.

Mrs. Riggs is survived by her sons, Johnny Terrell and wife Annette of Bennington, Oklahoma and Lasley Terrell and wife Michelle of Bokchito, Oklahoma; daughter, Darus Ann Terrell of Walla Walla, Washington; sister, Betty Flies and husband Franklin of Weatherford, Texas; granddaughters, Christie Lemmons and husband Damon of Bennington, Oklahoma, Melissa Mitchell of Bennington, Oklahoma, Adrian McDonald and husband David of Bennington, Oklahoma and Kandice Owen of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons, Matt Terrell and wife Brenda of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Mike Terrell and wife Jess of Bokchito, Oklahoma,John Owen and wife Kendra of Walla Walla, Washington and Jimmy Wigington of Silo, Oklahoma; and 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Riggs was preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia Vaughan; husbands, Frank A. Terrell and John D. Riggs; and brothers, C.L. and Billy Joe Vaughan.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00-6:00 PM Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service in honor of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Brother Wayne Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Minyard, William Minyard, Ethan Mitchell, Garrett Mitchell, Andrew McDonald, Jimmy McDonald, Matt Terrell and Mike Terrell. Honorary pallbearer will be John Owen and Jimmy Wigington.
