Michael James Rich passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Burneyville (Falconhead), Oklahoma at the age of 48 years 5 months and 12 days. Mike was born on Wednesday, February 21, 1963 in Durant, Oklahoma to James and Pat (Burgess) Rich.

Michael graduated from Bokchito High School and attended Oklahoma State University. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Mike loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his brothers at the ranch. Mike helped establish Rich Erosion Control Company with his brother, Bryne, in 1996 evolving to over 40 employees and turning it into a multi-million dollar company.

Mr. Rich is survived by his wife, Stephanie Stewart of the home; children, Cody Michael Rich of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Mikaela Dawn Rich of Calera, Oklahoma, Remington Levi Rich of the home; parents, James and Pat Rich of Bokchito, Oklahoma; brothers, Barry Keith Rich and wife Tina of McKinney, Texas, Bryne Rich of Bokchito, Oklahoma; 5 nieces, Brittany, Kaylee, Kaycee, Hannah and Maddie and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Family Hour will be 7-8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Church of Christ in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Church of Christ in Bokchito with Ross Phillips and Preston Burns officiating. Interment will follow at the Bokchito Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Jessie, Johnny Mac Smothermon, T.C. Condor, Paul Dill, Bill Penz and Michael Smothermon. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Tiseo and Jamey "Hutch" Hutchings.
