Marie Richardson passed from this life on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years 4 months and 22 days. She was born to John and Lula (Williams) Mashburn on Saturday, December 16, in Wolfe City, Texas.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Rev. Heath Murrah officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery, Bokchito, Oklahoma.
Marie was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed bowling, reading voraciously and watching television. While attending Midway High School, between Altus and Blair, Oklahoma, she became a skilled basketball player. She worked as a bank teller in several banks and as an apartment complex manager in several apartments in the Dallas area. Marie was a "mother" to several faithful pets over the years; Choy Baby, Su-Su and KoKo, she loved them dearly. For most of her life she lived in the Dallas area but later relocated to Oklahoma City in 1999.
She is survived by her brother, Walter V. Mashburn of Bennington, Oklahoma; nieces, Annetta Walker, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Luann Shafer, Bennington, Oklahoma, Barbara Gunter, Antlers, Oklahoma, Melanie Mashburn, Dallas, Texas, Beverly Fadley, Dallas, Texas; nephews, Charles Alan Seigler, Antlers, Oklahoma, Ricky Mashburn, Dallas, Texas, Bobby Wayne Carroll, Garland, Texas and Harvel Mashburn, Houston, Texas; a nephew's wife, Carla Blackmon, Denison, Texas; a sister-in-law, Olivia Mashburn, Dallas, Texas; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lula Mashburn; brothers, John H. Mashburn and wife Frances, Dwain Mashburn; sisters, Jettie Ward and husband John, Janice Seigler and husband Charles, Doris Coggins and husband "Slim" and Ora Carroll and husband Lewis. Ree was also preceded in death by a nephew, John "Sonny" Blackmon; a sister-in-law Olivia Mashburn; nephew in law, Oval Lee Walker,and her niece, Border Ree Ward.
