Gladys Ruth (Holliman) Reynolds went to be with her Lord on November 28, 2011 at 92 years of age. She was born in Swan, Texas on September 27, 1919 to James Stanford and Julia Katherine (Pope) Holliman. She married Johney Clinton Reynolds on August 29, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended school in Paris and McKinney, Texas.

Gladys was a charter member of the Armstrong First Baptist Church and was still a member at her passing and attended as long as her health allowed. She served the church as clerk and as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved to witness for her Lord Jesus and saw that many children had a ride to church. After the town of Armstrong incorporated, she served as town clerk for many years and served as inspector of the Armstrong voting precinct for a number of years. The town honored her by naming the town pavilion in her name. She served as chaplain for the Bryan County FFC and was honored one year by the Fair Board. She and Johney ran a grocery store in the town of Armstrong for several years. Later, she took a course from H & R Block and completed income taxes for many years. She loved her family, her church family, and her friends very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, James Holliman; and three sisters, Irene Grissom, Edna Enos, and Dorothy Robinson.

She is survived by her sons, John David Reynolds and wife Wan-Exa of Ft. Worth, Texas and James Allen Reynolds and wife Teresa of Channelview, Texas; daughters, Rebecca Katherine Corbin and husband Johnnie of Durant, Oklahoma, and Patricia Ann Hooper and husband Gerry of Southlake, Texas; brother, Claude Watson and wife Sheila of Richardson, Texas; sisters, Frances Welch of Arlington, Texas, and Freddie Miles of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Vicky Squires and husband David of Milton, Florida, Deborah Young and husband Clay of McAlester, Oklahoma, Sherry Harlin and husband Steve of Durant, Oklahoma, Lisa Frerichs and husband Kenny of Redwood Shores, California, Lauri Hooper of Austin, Texas, Rodney Reynolds and wife Jerrie of Fort Worth, Texas, Rayburn Reynolds of Fort Worth, Texas, Laura Opton and husband Eric of Lubbock, Texas, Stefani Smith and husband Patrick of Frisco, Texas, Tiffani Reynolds of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Ryan Dodson of Houston, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Services to celebrate Gladys’ life and home going will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Armstrong Baptist Church with Pastor Monty Wood officiating with internment at the Bokchito Cemetery, Bokchito, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Mathew Wood, Harold Garrard, Gary Robins, W.A. Bourne, Steve Dollarhide, Jeremy Robins and Huel Brumley.

The family will receive friends at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 5-6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lottie Moon Offering for foreign missions at the Armstrong Baptist Church.
