Services for Wayne E. Ledbetter, 65, of Durant who passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, in Dallas, Texas, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Ross Phillips will officiate.

Wayne was born March 31, 1943, in Wichita, Kan., to Wayne and Betty Hull Ledbetter. He attended and graduated from Casa Grand, Arizona High School. He then joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country from 1960 to 1962. He then began his career as a truck driver. He married Nancy Owens July 5, 1984, in Watsonville, Calif., and they later moved to Bryan County in 1993. He was a Reserve Officer with the Bokchito Police Dept., a member of the 3-Valley Bike Club and Lions Club. He founded the Good Shepherd Humane Society and he enjoyed building things, motorcycle riding and flying. Wayne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Lonnie and Naython; and grandmother.

Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife Nancy of the home; daughters, Tammy Touche and husband Jim of Eufaula, Patty Ledbetter of Sand Point, Idaho, Judith Sells of Glendall, Ariz., Jewel Haas and husband Butch of Durant and Melissa Greenroid of Wilson; sons, Jay Ledbetter of Ft. Bragg, N.C., Chris Ledbetter of Fla., Naymon Cox and wife Kathleen of Lawton and Marlon Cox and wife Tana of Bennington; 27 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Interment will be in Bokchito Cemetery with Edward Haas, Marlon Cox, Richard Ledbetter, Clayton Cox, Tom Ledbetter, Rocky Ledbetter, Tim Ledbetter and Jim Touche serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
