Nora Lorene Horton a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life into the next on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the age of 78 years 11 months and 25 days. She was born in Albany, Oklahoma to William Elijah and Docie Myrtle (Bell) Melton on Saturday, April 13, 1935. Nora Melton married Bernis E. Horton in Hugo, Oklahoma on Saturday, November 18, 1978.

Nora was a member of the Blue Baptist Church.

Mrs. Horton is survived by her sons, Doug Neal of Papillion, Nebraska and Larry Neal and wife Bobbie of Sherman, Texas; grandson, Michael Neal and wife Josephine; sisters, Lois Rose of Blue, Oklahoma and Imogene Knipe; brother, Billy Melton.

Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her parents, William and Docie Melton; husband, Bernis Horton; brother, Jimmy Melton; sister, Mildred Gipson.

Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Bokchito Cemetery with Rev. Randy Lewis officiating. The pallbearers will be Doug Neal, Larry Neal, Cecil Smith, Tony Taylor, Curtis Rose, Carrol Knipe and Craig Smith.
