Monte Cloyd Horner of Bokchito and Bennington, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at his home in Bokchito. Monte was born on January 30, 1952, in Dallas, Texas to parents Imogene and Curt Horner. He married Brenda Grace Payne on August 16, 1974, and they have been truly blessed with almost 50 years of marriage. Monte was a rancher from an early age and continued to take care of his land and cattle to the very end. He loved being around people telling jokes, which usually ended up being a long story. He deeply loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Monte is preceded in death by his parents Curt and Imogene Horner; father-in-law and mother-in-law Debs and Christine Payne and brother-in-law Eudis St. John.
Monte is survived by his loving and devoted wife Brenda Horner of the home; sisters Cleta Davis and husband Stanley and Jeannie Bell; in laws Dianne Clark and husband Alan and Odessa St. John; nieces Lori Pigg, Ashley Bell, Angela Trindle, Brooke Stenson, and Gretchen Tolbert; nephews Brian Davis and Curtis Bell and numerous extended family and dear friends.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Bokchito Cemetery Pavilion. Bro. Ross Phillips will officiate. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Bokchito Cemetery, PO Box 311 Bokchito, OK 74726. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
