Buck Goolsby, a devoted family man, passed from this life on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born in Horatio, Arkansas to Walter L. Goolsby and Elsie (Watkins) Goolsby on October 2nd, 1936. Buck married his beloved Kathryn in Durant, Oklahoma on July 2, 1955.
Buck was a brick mason by trade. He loved his life, especially having a big family, he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to the times they spent together. Buck liked the quiet solitude of fishing, and being in the woods hunting deer, and squirrel.
Mr. Goolsby is survived by his wife Kathryn Goolsby of the home; daughter, Sheila Allen and husband Darrell of Wade, Oklahoma; sons, Tony Goolsby and wife Marie of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Ricky Goolsby and wife Frances of Bokchito, Oklahoma, and Tim Goolsby of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Amanda Ferrell, Courtney Quarels, Jessica Allen, Richard Williams, Jackson Goolsby, Chris Goolsby, and Zachary Allen; great-grandchildren, Dylan Robinson, Jakob Goolsby, Destin Goolsby, Mary Jane Goolsby, Kaycee Williams, Ashlee Williams, Taylor Williams, Kaleb Williams, Maison Ferrell, Aiden Ferrell, Emily Ferrell, Raci Goolsby, Tatum Goolsby, and Ethan King; also survived by his sister, Martha Hamilton of Brentwood, Arkansas.
Mr. Goolsby was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elsie Goolsby; granddaughter, Tennille Goolsby; brothers, Buell Goolsby, Jewell Goolsby, and one little brother; sisters, Beulah Goolsby and Betty Drain.
Family hour will be from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday February 20th at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday February 21st at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel with Bro. Danny Maples officiating. Burial will follow at the Bokchito Cemetery. The pallbearers will be grandsons, Richard Williams, David Ferrell, Dylan Robinson, Zachary Allen, Chris Goolsby, and Matt Quarles.
