Dorothy Rae Godbey 86, of Sherman, Texas passed away Monday afternoon January 2, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. She was born October 5, 1930 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Ray and Blanche Winchester Spoon.
She attended Bokchito and Denison schools. She married Norris "Gabby" Godbey in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 1996. She retired from Texas Instruments after 20 plus years and was of the Baptist faith. She had lived in Denison most of her life after living in Bokchito several years.
She was also preceded in death by her Parents, Sons Jerry "Puddin" Brotherton and Jim Cook and a Brother Jim Spoon.
Surviving are her Daughters Kathryn Clements of Denison and Sheri Irkilata of Turkey and a Granddaughter raised as a Daughter Donnita Smith of Denison. Grandchildren Lonnie Pointer of Whitewright,TX., Beth Brotherton and Renea Cook both of Denison, Jason Cook of Washington and Joshua Pilkerton of Warner,OK. Numerous Great Grandchildren and several Great Great Grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Dorothy Godbey will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon January 5, 2017 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma Burial will follow in the Bokchito Cemetery. The register book may be signed and condolences sent to the family online @ cunninghamfuneralhomesok.com. Arrangements are Entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma.
