Lendell Dyer a beloved family member and resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life in Sherman, Texas on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the age of 87. He was born in Bokchito, Oklahoma on May 14, 1927 to Earl and Willa Mae (Dill) Dyer. Lendell married Lillian Ione Jones in Sherman, Texas on July 10, 1946.

Lendell was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was employeed by E.W. Moran Drilling Co. as a tool pusher and served his county in the United States Navy.

Mr. Dyer is survived by his wife, Ione of the home; son, Gary Dyer and wife Lanette of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandson, Ethan Dyer of Denton, Texas; brother-in-law, Royce Lee Gray of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers, Royce Dyer and wife Barbara of Minnesota and Don Dyer and wife Lou of Richardson, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dyer was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mae Dyer; brothers, Gene and Gerald Dyer; sister, Earlene Gray.

The family has respectfully requested that memorials be made in Lendell's name to the Falls Creek Cabin in care of the Calvary Baptist Church. A gathering of friends and family will be from 2-4:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A service in honor of his life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Darel Bunch and Jacob Towes officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Ethan Dyer, David Kerr, Jordan Kerr, David Owen, Thomas Phillips and Elvis Knowles.
