Don Davis a resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the age of 73 years 6 months and 19 days. He was born to Jessie Earnest and Ruby Foye (Childers) Davis in Southland, Texas on August 7, 1940.
Don enjoyed being outside caring for his cattle and goats. He started working as a mechanic for Steakly's Chevrolet. Don was also employeed as a Auto Part Manager in several dealerships in Southeastern Oklahoma and North Texas. He worked for the Orscheln's Farm Supply as a sales associate several years before his retirement .
Mr. Davis is survived by his son, Chris Davis of Denison, Texas; grandchildren, Amity Davis of Colbert, Oklahoma and Kelton Davis of Denison, Texas; great-grandson, due in April; sister, Betty Fuller and husband Jerry of Wade, Oklahoma; niece, Melissa Hernandez of Athens, Texas; several great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by parents, Jessie and Ruby Davis.
Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the Faith Baptist Church in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Bro. Scott Melton and Rev. Kevin George officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glenn Beames, Karl Jestis, Ernest Hatcher, Clint Dill, Jr., Albert Armor and Mike Willis.
