Thelma May Parker Cox was born on April 14, 1921 in Haskell County to George Monroe Parker and Isabell Elviney Weathers Parker. Thelma went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 9, 2013.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Thelda Haislip; siblings Walter, Emma, Ted, Hubert, and Clifton.
Thelma is survived by her daughters, Gail Kropp of Durant, LaDell Cruz and husband Don of Freehold, NJ, Phyllis Montgomery and husband Monty of Durant; son-in-law James Haislip of Durant; grandchildren Jimmy and Ali Haislip of Rockwall, TX, Jean Floyd of Durant, Todd and Terri Kropp of Plano, TX, Brad and Carrie Kropp of Sterling, VA, Wil and Malisa Montgomery of Waxahachie, TX, Martha and Butch Boucher of Durant, Crystal and Kevin Staton of Hendrix, OK, Heather Cruz of Fairfax, VA and Willie Cruz of Arlington, VA; great-grandchildren Tasha and Chase Causey, Neil Floyd, Scott King, Kelsey King, Tori Kropp, Bailey Kropp, Trenton Trude, Jocelyn Staton, Jasey Trude, Dylan Wilkerson, Chelsea Boucher, Carley Boucher, Austin Montgomery, Charity Montgomery and Madelyn Brassell; great-great grandchildren Clayton Causey, Jaxson Causey, and Isaiah Floyd, and several nieces and nephews.
Above all she served her Heavenly Father and was looking forward to going home.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, crocheting, quilting, listening to gospel music, and collecting birds. She was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Haislip, Todd Kropp, Brad Kropp, Trenton Trude, Kevin Staton, Wil Montgomery, Butch Boucher, and Neil Floyd. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Browns Funeral Service Chapel in Durant. Bro. Charles Parker, Bro. Aaron Parker, Bro. Jerry Cooper, Bro. Montie Parker and Tommy Parker will officiate. Interment will follow in Bokchito Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Browns Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM.
