Emma Lee Brown passed away at her home in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the age of 86 years 10 months and 18 days. She was born on Tuesday, July 1, 1925 to John and Mary (Jones) Logan in Bokchito, Oklahoma.
Emma Logan married Airy Calvin “A.C.†Brown on Tuesday, June 17, 1947 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Emma was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma. She enjoyed being outdoors and would go camping and fishing whenever she could. Emma loved being with her family and she especially enjoyed taking vacations with her grandchildren and tending her garden.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her son, James C. Brown and wife Rosemary of Cartwright, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Lindsey Brown of Washington, DC; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Gomez of Tampa, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Jones; husband, A.C. Brown; brother, Albert Logan; sister, Alma Sawyer; grandson, Staff Sergeant Jason Logan Brown.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Victory Home Health staff and the Wells Family for their loving care.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Roger Speers officiating. Interment will follow at the Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Hall Hicks, Kenneth Brown, Jimmy Brown, Steve Dow, Donald Vails and Jack Sullivan.
