Maydell L. Blankenship a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the age of 87 years 9 months and 5 days. She was born in Banty, Oklahoma on New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 1925 to Lee Roy and Rosa Edna (Glover) Bell. Maydell Bell married Kenneth Ray Blankenship in Hugo, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 25, 1956.

Maydell's calling in life was to stay home and care for her family. She was very talented and enjoyed creating quilts and sewing. Maydell loved growing flowers in her yard. She was a member of the Pentecostal faith and was inspired by the music sung in her church.

Mrs. Blankenship is survived by her sons, Leroy Brister and wife Gene of Durant, Oklahoma, W.J. Brister of San Antonio, Texas, Jerry Dale Brister and special friend Tina of Durant, Oklahoma and James L. Brister and wife Kathy of Durant, Oklahoma; sisters, Opal Burnett of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Lorene Henson and husband Charlie of Bokchito, Oklahoma; brothers, Vernon Bell and wife Mary of El Reno, Oklahoma and Delbert Bell and wife Clara of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Barbara Bell of Pottsboro, Texas.

Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Rosa Edna Bell; husband, Kenneth Blankenship; brother, Paul Bell; sisters, Deuthal McCann and Rachel Patty.

Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the First Pentecostal Church, in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Rev. Vernon Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Walter Brister, James Brister, Ray Brister, Kenny Brister, A.J. McCann and Delbert Burnett.
