James Franklin (Jim) Beames a resident of Mead, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the age of 67. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma on February 15, 1948 to James Prentice and Jean LaVerne (Dodson) Beames.

Jim loved to watch professional bull riding. He was the owner of the Beames Hill Stop store in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Jim served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1969. He graduated from Bokchito High School in 1966. Jim liked to be outside camping and boating.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sylvia of the home; sister, Cheryl Patton and husband Roger of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandchildren, James Thomas Beames and wife Leah of Albany, Oklahoma, Mia Bond and husband Matt of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, Marissa Beames of Albany, Oklahoma, and Dalton Beames of Albany, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, James Ryan Beames II and Elyjah Keith Bond, Jayden David Bond; step-sons, Jerry Hudson of Idaho, Donnie Hudson of Mead, Oklahoma and Sean Hill of Bokchito, Oklahoma; nephew, Michael Day of Bokchito, Oklahoma; nieces, Hiley Johnson of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Keely Patton of Durant, Oklahoma; great-nephews, Paul Day and A.J. Johnson; step-grandchildren, Charvelle Hudson of Mead, Oklahoma, Sabrina Hudson of DeQueen, Arkansas, Chari Hudson of Durant, Oklahoma, Jimmy Hudson of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Sylvia Hill of Armstrong, Oklahoma and Nathaniel Hill of Dallas; step-great-grandchildren, Jeremy Joe Hudson, Little Jimmy Hudson, Miama and Soriana; and the mother of his children, Glenda Robertson of Albany, Oklahoma; and a host of loving family and very dear friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean Beames; son, James Ryan Beames; daughter, Twyla Mae Beames.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 6-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A church service in honor of his memory will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Bokchito with Bro. Jackie Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. The pallbearers will be James Thomas Beames, Michael Day, Roger Patton, Jimmy Hudson, Terre Beames, Bill Beames, Roger Furtick and Eddie Mac Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Heil, Russell Thompson, Bub Allen, Johnny Cline and the Bokchito Class of 1966.
