Dovie Viola Haislip Wigley

Dovie Viola (Haislip) Wigley departed this earthly life on March 18, 2021 at the age of 81 at her residence in Bennington, Oklahoma. Dovie was born on April 29, 1939 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Archie Chester and Catherine (Graham) Haislip.

Dovie loved her family and was the happiest when they would come and visit, so they could all be together. She loved trains, yard sales, museums, the history of the San Jancito Valley and strawberry ice cream. She loved her job and her customers loved her! She worked as a retail clerk for many years before her retirement. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her only son Keith Wigley and wife Susan of San Jacinto, California, granddaughter Tanaya Wellmering and husband Craig of Bennington, Oklahoma and two great granddaughters Leah Gadsby who is stationed in South Korea and Alexis Wellmering, and one great grandson Ethan Wellmering. Dovie is survived by her sister Devon Harvill and husband John of Rowlett, Texas, and two brothers John Ray Haislip of Bennington, Oklahoma and James Haislip of Mead, Oklahoma. Dovie is also survived by her sister-in-law and care giver extraordinaire Martha Haislip, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dovie was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Catherine, only daughter Kay Villareal, sisters Janet Allen Knight, Levon Martin, and Barbara Robbins. Brothers Dale Haislip, Stoneman Haislip, Gerry Haislip, Jerry Haislip and William Chester Haislip.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Family Worship Center in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Bro. Phillip Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma. The services will be available for viewing via livestream through the Holmes Coffey Murray Facebook page.
