Dakota Blaze Smith a beloved family member and resident of Bennington, Oklahoma passed away too soon in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the age of 19. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma on August 26, 1996.
Dakota loved to listen to music, take selfies and hang out with his friends. His favorite places were the Bennington Public School and home. Dakota graduated from Bennington in 2015. He was currently attending Tulsa Welding School. Dakota always had a smile on his face and loved to make people laugh.
Dakota is survived by his mother, Martha (Marty) Haislip of the home; brother, Colton Mendinghall of Yukon, Oklahoma; sister, Skyla Collins of Davis, Oklahoma; aunt, Pam Reynolds and husband Brad of Bokchito, Oklahoma; uncle, Jerry Haislip of Achille, Oklahoma; cousins, Blake Phillips of Yukon, Oklahoma, Blane Phillips of Bennington, Oklahoma, Tiffany Anderson and husband Dillan, Raci and Tatum Goolsby of Bennington, Oklahoma, Patrick and Misty Haislip of Durant, Oklahoma, Chris Reynolds, Yvonne, Laynie and Lexie of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Talacia Reynolds of Bennington; special family, Angie and husband Chris Caraccio of Durant, Oklahoma, Paul Davis and Glenda Gamble, Jewell Davis, Bradley and Christy Davis of Bennington; niece, Rain Aldridge; nephew, Ryland Aldridge; and numerous other family members and many special friends.
A funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Chitwood Center in Bennington with Bro. Phillip Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Bennington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dillan Anderson, Cobb Robison, Taylin Palmer, Brandon Seal, Corey Brown, Kevin Phillips and Blane Phillips. Honorary pallbearer will be Devin Emert.
