Kathryn Pinson of Hugo, OK passed away peacefully in her sleep, on the morning of Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Bonham, TX at the age of 87.

Kathryn was born on July 31, 1925, in Bennington, OK to Arthur Murray and Louella (Jones) Murray; her brothers Grover and William are deceased. Following her mother Luella's death in January of 1934, Arthur later remarried, and Arthur & Alma Murray, continued to raise Kathryn, Grover and William in the area near Bennington.

While attending Arizona University, on August 15, 1945, she caught the eye of Leslie Clay Pinson of Barboursville, WV. He will tell you, to this day, that it was love at first sight. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Army Air Corps at the end of World War II, his enrollment into the University of Arizona to resume his pre-WW II pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree, and his persistence in pitching woo to Kathryn Murray, they married in Nogales, AZ on March 22, 1947. During their early years, they were involved in the farming industry in Arizona. In the late 1950's, they left farming when he took employment with Hughes Aircraft in Tucson, AZ. By then, they had two daughters, Carey and Becky, and a son, Clay.

In 1964, the Pinson Family moved to Texas, when Leslie Clay Pinson accepted an opportunity to work with Campbell Soup Company's new plant, in Paris. In the Spring of 1968, Kathryn and Clay, as she called him, purchased the Village Inn Motel and later Marbut's Restaurant, located next door; it become the Village Inn Motel and Restaurant. Later, they purchased the Karriage House Motel and expanded into the long time goal to own and operate a cattle ranch, which was named the 5P Ranch.

Kathryn and Leslie Clay Pinson's children blessed them with 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Carey & Bill Warren of Fort Towson, OK, have two daughters, Kelly and Lendy; Kelly & Brett Brame of Miller Jumbo, OK, have two sons, Zach and Garrett; Lendy & Kooney Duncan reside near Noble, OK. Becky and Hank Dennis have a daughter, Lynn, and a son, Cody; Cody and Andrea Dennis have a son, Cody (Jr) and a daughter, Ally Kay; all reside in Wanette, OK. (Preston) Clay & Eva Pinson and son, Sam, reside in Heath, TX; daughter Tillie Pinson resides in Rockwall, TX.

For Kathryn and Leslie Clay Pinson, it has been over 65 years of marriage, and to those of you who have had a chance to see Kay and Clays' together, most folks find them something very special to see, indeed.

The family invites you to join them in the Chapel of Prater-Lampton- Mills & Coffey Funeral Home for visitation and viewing of Kathryn, from 6-7 PM, on Friday, January 4, 2013. In remembrance of Kathryn, the family respectfully requests your consideration for contributions to www.omrf.org or call OMRF at 405/271-7400, to further along the research, treatment and cure for Alzheimer's disease.

Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com
