Lyndon Paul Camp was born on January 17, 1970 at the Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, TX to Delores (Bully) and Paul James Camp. He passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 43 years 8 months and 16 days.

Lyndon was a proud full blood member of the Choctaw Nation. He was extremely proud of his Choctaw Heritage and to be a Choctaw veteran. Lyndon graduated from the Bennington High School in 1988, then in 1989 enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Before he was deployed to the Middle East he served on the U.S.S. Siapan off the coast of Liberia. Lyndon was part of the rescue operation at the United States Embassy in Monrovia, he served in Spain and Kuwait as part of Desert Storm, and other foreign countries.

Lyndon was a member of the Bennington Baptist Church, he loved to fish, shoot his bow and arrows but especially spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Mr. Camp is survived by his mother, Delores Camp Rutz of Bennington, Oklahoma; step-father, Tommy Rutz of Bennington, Oklahoma; sister, Tanya Hughes and husband Scott of Elk City, Oklahoma; brother, Terry Rutz of Calera, Oklahoma; aunts, Pamela James of Durant, Oklahoma and Helen Selmon of Royce City, Texas, Mary Barcetis of Achille, Oklahoma and Serena Peters of Denison, Texas; uncles, Patrick Culley of Bennington, Oklahoma, Willie Wally of Bennington, Oklahoma and favorite uncle Joel Camp (Little Joe).

Mr. Camp was preceded in death by his father, Paul James Camp; grandparents, John and Georgia Bully and Joel and Harriet Camp.

Family Hour will be from 2-3:00 PM Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in honor of his memory will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Bennington First Baptist in Bennington, Oklahoma with Rev. Clark Harp officiating. Interment will follow at Bennington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Aunque, Randy Caraway, Dustin Singleton, Willie Minyard, Terry Rutz and Chad Ensey.
