Carlos Ray Butler

Graveside services for Carlos Ray Butler, 74, of Durant will be Friday, January 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bennington cemetery, Bennington, Oklahoma. Rev. Dan McLemore will officiate. Interment will be at the Bennington cemetery under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home.

Mr. Butler, a resident of Kings Daughters and Sons Nursing Home, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the age of 74 years. He was born on April 24, 1936 in Bennington, Oklahoma to Marion Frank Butler and Alma Marie (Rogers) Butler. Carlos married Gerry Brackett in 1955. He later married Shirley McCormick and they raised one daughter. After High School Carlos worked for a service station in Irving, Texas. He later worked for Fox and Jacobs, in the city of Farmers Branch and retired from the city of Carrolton, Texas. After retirement Carlos moved back to Bennington, Oklahoma. Carlos is a member of the Baptist faith. He loved to fish, hunt and work on his trucks.

He is survived by: Daughter, Lucretia Dianne Rolland of Irving, Texas; sisters, Wilma (Francil) Butler of Durant, Oklahoma and Shirley Jestis and husband Karl Jestis of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, John (Johnny) Edward Butler of Denton, Texas. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alma Butler, infant brother, Wilburn Butler and brother, Charley (Gene) Butler.
